Sorry I've not written for a while, I've been quite busy and haven't found the time to post anything of interest really. I'll make more of an effort to get my thoughts down in future.

The diet has been going well, I've now lost a total of 8.5lb in 5 weeks, which is pretty amazing for me. I need to lose another 4 pounds to reach my initial target of 5% weight loss. I thought it would take me much longer so I am really pleased.

We're off to Spain next week for a fortnight so need to make sure that I keep myself on track. I'm really hoping I could continue shifting another 2 pounds a week so I come home to my 5% weight loss target but that's never going to happen with the amount of drinking and eating out we are going to be doing! Realistically, my main goal should be to make sure I don't come back any heavier.

Diet saboteurs are a major problem but I'll just have to defend myself against them and put up a bit of a booze and naughty food barrier. I know exatly what to expect, comments like 'go on have another drink, you're on your holidays', 'ahh, surely you can have a few meals out, you're on your holidays' and 'don't be boring, you're on holiday' springs to mind. I'm still going to track everything and really watch what I'm doing, of course I'll have some treats but will have to choose wisely.

It might actually help being in the sun, looking at all the lovely toned, tanned bikini bodies on the beach while I'm sat feeling like a beached whale in a tankini will stop me from running off to the ice cream van!
