Here we are on a cold and frosty Monday Morning. What is it about cold weather that makes you want to eat yummy things!?
My weekend has gone not too bad actually, and the weight watchers way of eating seems quite easy. That is, apart from me feeling like I've 'cheated' all weekend! I've indulged in burger and chips, cornetto ice cream, bags of crisps, cheese butties and chocolate desserts, but still seem to be within my allowed points total which makes me feel rather sceptical! It's all stuff I wouldn't normally eat out of guilt! Well, I suppose we'll see what the scales say on 'W' day this Thursday.
It has been quite hard to get my head around this new 'pro points' way of eating. I've been used to having lists of 'free foods' with most of my previous diets, where I could fill up on allowed food types or groups. But, with Weight Watchers most things (apart from veg and fruit) have a pro points value and everything has to be counted (with average servings or weights listed against points) What a joke! Have you ever weighed and measured 40g of dried spaghetti? It really wouldn't feed a sparrow. So bang went another 4 pro points when I doubled my spaghetti allowance to 80g (which by then would probably only fill a crow) Really, I should have quadrupled it to get my usual portion size, but I've gotta start somewhere and opted for the smaller portion. I probably could have saved points by making the bolognaise sauce without 2 glasses of red wine in in it, but where's the fun in that? Granted, I was still hungry after dinner but needs must and all that.
At the moment, my leader has given me 28 daily pro points and an additional 49 weekly pro points to use as I see fit. It is quite do-able and if you think about it you can make yourself some lovely wholesome meals, but due to lack of preparation and having nothing WW related in the house I seemed to work myself through 33 of my weekly extra pro points on Saturday alone! oops. I hope I won't need extra points before the week is out.
So, to keep me motivated this week I decided to list the following 5 reasons for losing weight:
1. My clothes need to fit again as I'm seriously running out of clothage
2. I'm sure my husband thinks I look like a pig!
3. I want to be able to wear a tankini in Marbella in 2 months time (a bikini would be nice but this is a diet not a miracle!)
4. I don't want to have to hide myself in ridiculous old fogey clothes anymore, I look like a frump
5. My best friend is having a humongous fancy birthday party in June and I want to look fab
